Premium Breeding Stock

Blanc Star 1006, known as Abram, is a registered fullblood Blackhead Dorper ram and a proven Greater Graze flock sire.

Since joining our flock in May 2022, Abram has bred successfully through multiple breeding seasons and has sired numerous lambs, including retained replacement ewes and breeding-quality ram offspring.

He is a very large, heavily muscled mature ram with substantial body capacity, broad hindquarters, strong masculine character, and a productive mature breeding-ram appearance. He has shown excellent parasite resilience (see below for Texas A&M study of his sires' genetics*) within our flock and has maintained strong condition without recurring parasite-related problems.

His American Dorper Sheep Breeders’ Society registration certificate is in hand and transferable to the buyer. His genetics are now extensively represented among our retained females, which is why he is being offered for sale.

*Important note*
Blanc Star 1006 “Abram” RF154790 comes from a Holman pedigree with a documented connection to exceptional parasite-resilience and carcass performance. His sire is Holman Ranch 8357 RF128195 and his paternal grandsire is the prominent Holman Ranch 3079 RF083648. In the Texas A&M AgriLife / ADSBS Dorper Sire Progeny Test, the closely related Holman Ranches 1420 RF161407 produced progeny with only 1,026 eggs/gram fecal egg count, 38.0% PCV, a 3.32 sq. in. ribeye and 69.5 lb hot carcass weight following parasite challenge. Holman Ranch 3079 also appears in 1420’s pedigree, giving the two rams a direct pedigree connection. Abram himself has shown strong parasite resilience under our southeast Texas pasture conditions. This does not prove he carries the same resistance genetics, but it makes this Holman line especially interesting for breeders seeking hardy, muscular Blackhead Dorpers with potential parasite resilience.
